Amy Burkert for Mayor
Thoughtful Progress.
True to Bisbee.
Coming Soon:
Coffee With Amy
For years, I’ve found that getting together for a cup of coffee or tea is an enjoyable way to get to know someone. It’s a comfortable space to connect and share ideas!
Beginning in April, I’d like to invite you to join me for meetups in our local coffee shops. Please come and share your ideas for Bisbee, as well as what you’d like to see from your next mayor.
Check back soon for a calendar of times and locations. And if that is not convenient, I’ll be glad to meet with you and your neighbors at a house party to hear your thoughts and ideas.
Why be mayor?
Is there anyone in Bisbee who doesn’t love this town? It’s vibrant, friendly, and unique! My mission is to protect what we love about Bisbee while navigating the progress we need.
As Mayor, my top priority will always be our residents’ best interest. Together, we can support the character and spirit of our community while building a healthy, thriving economy that benefits us all. Let’s do this together!

About Amy
As the oldest of four girls, I grew up in a tiny Wisconsin town. That rural family life provided a solid foundation that I’ve always relied on. After earning an accounting degree from Marquette University, I worked in public accounting and investment banking.
In 2000, I met my husband, Rod, who shared a similar background, and we started our own business. The business valuation firm we founded in 2002 continues to evolve today.
That entrepreneurial drive resurfaced when we adopted a stray German Shepherd. Discovering a passionate community in need of good resources, I launched GoPetFriendly.com, a pet travel website and network for people who believe pets make the journey sweeter.
Rod and I sold our home and traveled the country in our motorhome with our dogs, Ty and Buster, researching pet-friendly places. Along the way, I shared our experiences on my blog, and eventually self-published a book.
Our twelve-year nomadic adventure, living and working in our RV, came to an end when we fell in love with Bisbee. We sold the RV, bought a house, and now enjoy walking our dog, Myles, all over town. Settling down also gave me the opportunity to volunteer as treasurer for the Friends of the Copper Queen Library.
Like you, we’ve found our home in Bisbee.
